One for the Road - Remembering George Wendt

For our friends in Boston: Please join us Tuesday, May 27th at 5pm at 84 Beacon Street for a heartfelt evening as we celebrate the life and legacy of George Wendt — a beloved figure whose work and spirit left a lasting impression on generations.

This special event is free to attend. We'll gather in good company to share stories, raise a glass, and honor George’s memory in the way he would’ve loved — with warmth, laughter, and community.

Enjoy a cash bar and light bites throughout the evening. While there is no cover charge, net proceeds from the event will be donated to Cheers For Children in George’s honor.

Whether you knew him from the screen, the stage, or simply as a familiar face who reminds you of Boston, we invite you to be part of this tribute.

RSVP to the live, in-person event here.

PLEASE NOTE: this event is in-person, in Boston only. If you would like to leave a virtual tribute, please sign the guestbook below.

On the 32nd anniversary of Cheers Last Call, we said goodbye to George Wendt, the beloved actor who brought Norm to life and gave so many of us a reason to smile.

George wasn’t just an actor—he was a symbol of comfort, laughter, and that familiar feeling of walking into a place where everybody knows your name.

We were honored every time he walked through our doors—not as a character, but as the kind, funny, humble man behind the legend. He brought joy not only to the screen, but to every person lucky enough to meet him in person.

To George: thank you for the laughs, the memories, and the legacy you leave behind. You’ll always have a stool at our bar.

Cheers, Norm.
